King Arthur

I have always been a large King Arthur fan! However, as much as I like the King Arthur stories, I am not sure how much of them could be based on historical fact.  For instance, if there were a king arthur and his wife cheated on him with one of his best knights, he probably would not hesitate to straight up execute them both.  And in the story hes all hesitant and kind. You just dont really here about those kind of rulers....ya know?  Not that it wouldnt be a great thing but if it were socially acceptable i bet hilary clinton woulda just gone straight for the kill.  Thats totally what I would do...no biggy. I love King Arthur though....his wife is a bitch. WTF?! Lets just cheat on the nicest guy ever.... even though he diiiid sleep with his half sister. his bad. he didnt know..okay

Cupid and Psyche

 

The tale of Cupid and Psyche is what we today would call a soap opera. Psyche is so beautiful that Venus gets jealous and sends a man to make her life miserable...he falls in love with her. Venus freaks out. Sounds to me like an mythical episode of days of our lives. =P I thougth it was intersting how we talked about the differneces between  male and female sexuality in class. And how in order for Psyche and Cupid to finally be together they had to embrace eachtoher into their lives rather than just their aggressive sexuality. Things were out of balance without a combination of both. Yin and Yang if you will.  Now according to the definition this aggressive sexuality would be defined as male.  I think it is easy enough to distinguish the difference between male and female. 

A call

I am waiting for my Stage 1.  My departure stage. My call to adventure. I thought at first the perhaps this was going off to a new place for college. I decided college is no different than anything else. It cant be my call to adventure..i hope. I like to think my life will end up more exciting than that.  And what about the other steps? Help from the gods? A hot steamy temptress come to my aid? So today this is like help from Oprah or Tyra and Megan Fox is coming to my rescue at some point? Can we change that to like James Franco or maybe Zac Efron to my resue? HOT!

Oh yes. They can assist me on a dangerous quest anyday. RAAAWR

Freud

I am curious as to what my sub-concious holds. Is there any way to access it? Our are dreams part of our sub-concious struggling to get through? We talked about how dreams are repressed desires on wednesday. This is kind of creepy to me.  What about nightmares?  We also talked about what heros are to us. Everyone has their own personal archetype or whatever.

When i think heros i think these guys.  Wonder if superman has any weird ass repressed dreams? What does superman dream about? hmmmm anyways superman is kinda like the greek heros.  He was deserted and shippped off to earth to fend on his own.  He is raised by a farmer and his wife.  Bleh bleh bleh eventually he returns. Its all one big monomyth. Same story used over and over. You would think their would be law suits of some kind. Hmmmm im out.

MOVING ON

I was thinking alot about the Amazons who basically use men for sperm and then kill them.  A world without boys? NO NO NO! No boy friend is not cool by me..and either is killing. LOL I think the whole method of meeting a nice chap, falling madly in love, ..... and then reproducing is better than SEX AND DEATH 101. But hey thats just me..theres some freaks out there! HAHA

The Goddess

I like the idea that the goddess used to be on top. Women dont get enough credit these days...And the whole idea of the sun and the earth getting it on for 17 minutes a day?! YES. LOVE IT! That is a way cooler way to think about spring and summer and what not. A hunk of burnin love (the sun) comes and visits his dirty mistriss(dirt hill) one a year and they go at it and spring is born. Thats the best thing I have heard so far in that class.
